First Run of 2014
The 2014 season is off to a slow start. Jan and Feb were much cooler than average. We had at least 10 days with temperatures below freezing. Last weekend we had a three day warm spell and did collect about 4000 gallons but it is going to take a good week of warm weather to get things going in high gear. The next 7 days look to cold for sap. Tonight it is supposed to be around zero again. I’m not complaining, this gives us a chance to catch up on other things like cut firewood and build bee boxes for our new hives in April.
